Video Baby Monitors
Consider this scenario:
After dinner you put the baby in the crib to sleep with a fresh change of diaper and recent feeding. You hope you can get some time away from the baby, but of course, you cannot be sure. While you are sitting in the family room chatting with house guests, you hear the baby cry. Quickly and quietly you get up, excuse yourself, and check on the baby. You know nothing could possibly be wrong with the baby, with him/her being recently fed and the change of diaper. Still, what if something happened, what if the baby is hurt! After careful inspection of the baby, nothing seems to be wrong. You go back to your house guests to chat. In a few more minutes the baby is crying once more. Again you get up check on the child, find nothing wrong, and return to the house guests.
Trying to think of ways to fix this problem, you come up with solutions like: keeping the baby with you, having someone with the baby, or just letting the baby cry. None of the solutions make any sense, and could cause harm to the baby, so you just deal with the constant disturbance throughout the night. As the night comes to a close and guests are leaving, you chat with one of the couples. Eventually one of them happen to mention their use of video baby monitors. You almost slap yourself on the head, and wonder why you never thought of it. Sure you have a audio baby monitor, but video monitor makes a lot of sense.
